One of my favorite meals to prepare for breakfast is overnight oats. This quick and easy breakfast makes the morning rush so much easier to navigate. Plus, it’s a breakfast I can feel good about eating. With a quick Pinterest or Google search you can find a ton of different recipes for overnight oats. Today, I’m sharing my favorite overnight oat recipe from Cookie and Kate.
What You’ll Need
- 1/3 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp almond or peanut butter
- 1/2 cup milk of choice
- 1/2 cup fruit
- Drizzle of honey or maple syrup, optional

Simply combine all the ingredients together (minus the fruit, if you are using a type that doesn’t store well) in a glass jar or whatever container you have handy and place in the refrigerator overnight. I found some Betty Crocker plastic storage containers at the dollar store a few years ago. They are the perfect size for overnight oats and easy on the wallet.
The ingredient list above will yield one serving, but I typically make enough servings for the work week. These oats hold up well in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. In the morning I add my fruit of choice, typically banana and/or berries, top with a drizzle of honey and enjoy!
